Dr Mairaed Crawford

Dr Mairaed Crawford completed her medical degree at Deakin University in Geelong in 2015. She was drawn to general practice as it affords an opportunity for patient-centred holistic care through the many stages of life.

Mairaed enjoyed a variety of training experiences during her early career before settling into general practice. She has worked at hospitals including The Austin Melbourne, Alice Springs Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney. She was awarded fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021.

With special interests in pregnancy care, women's health and mental health, Mairaed has completed further training in all three of these fields. She had over twelve months of Obstetric & Gynaecology experience at Alice Springs Hospital and RPA and completed her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2018. Mairaed has experiencing supporting families with the transition to parenthood and has additional skills in providing holistic breastfeeding support/feeding difficulties, infant cry-fuss and settling issues and parents experiencing perinatal mental health challenges.

Mairaed is also certified in Implanon insertion, and administration of medication for medical termination of pregnancy. Mairaed is one of the GPs at Neighbourhood Medical consulting in the endometriosis and pelvic pain clinic.

Mairaed’s other area of interest is mental health and wellbeing. Although she has a special interest in caring for people with eating disorders, as of August 2023, Mairaed does not have capacity to accept new patients for monitoring of eating disorders in addition to her current caseload.
